RedFox 5328 Industrial Ethernet Switches
The RedFox 5328 series is designed for the core of large high-performance industrial networks and has been developed to cater to the needs of current and future industrial data networks, combining outstanding performance, durability and reliability. These switches are ideal for handling the big data and high bandwidth requirements typically found within transportation, manufacturing, energy, smart cities and other applications.
Integrating hardware, software and network design support tools, this next generation switch platform offers advanced capabilities, the lowest total cost of ownership and will create the most reliable and resilient networks on the market.
The switch is engineered to maintain uninterrupted data communication, even in exceptionally harsh environments. The RedFox 5328 series is tested and certified to withstand extreme temperatures, vibrations and shocks. The switches only use industrial grade components which contributes towards a market leading mean time between failure (MTBF), maximized service life, and reduced operational and life cycle costs.
Various port configurations are available, that can be further customized with SFP transceivers. The RedFox 5328 series is available with either a DC or AC power supply.
RedFox 5528 Industrial Ethernet Switches
The RedFox-5528 a high performance layer 3 industrial Ethernet switch designed for high network traffic applications. Various port configurations are available that can be further customised with SFP transceivers. RedFox-5528 is powered by WeOS, the Westermo network operating system.
RedFox-5528 is designed for 19” cabinet according to the ETSI standard, which makes it suitable for use in control room networks as well as for cabinets installed along railway trackside installations. RedFox-5528 is designed to run efficiently from a DC power supply (not considered DC mains). The unit is also equipped with configurable I/O fault contact that makes it ideal for easy installations and monitoring in industrial applications.
Only industrial grade components are used, which gives RedFox-5528 an MTBF of 667,000 hours (Telcordia) that ensures a long service life. A wide operating temperature range of -40 to +74°C (-40 to +165°F) can be achieved with no moving parts or cooling holes in the case. RedFox-5528 has been tested both by Westermo and external test labs to meet many standards regarding EMC, isolation, vibration and shock, all to the highest levels suitable for heavy industrial environments and rail trackside application.

The RedFox-7528 high performance industrial Ethernet switches provide an ideal solution for these large-scale industrial networks.
RedFox-7528 is designed for 19” rack cabinets according to the ETSI standard, which makes it suitable for use in control room networks as well as for cabinets installed along railway trackside installations. In addition to the ultra-rugged IP40 fanless all metal housing, it is equipped with configurable I/O fault contacts, which makes it ideal for easy installation and monitoring in industrial applications.
To ensure long service life and market leading MTBF, only industrial grade components are used. In addition, the switches can withstand constant vibration, extreme temperatures and demanding electrical environments. To reduce risk and increase cyber resilience, the RedFox 7528 has an extensive suite of advanced cybersecurity features. These can be used to build networks in compliance with the IEC 62443 standard, which defines technical security requirements for data communication network components.
WeOS Network Operating System
Powered by WeOS, the Westermo network operating system the switches are flexible, feature rich as well as easy to install and configure. WeOS has been developed to allow cross-platform and future-proof solutions and can deliver resilient and flexible networks, e.g. the FRNT ring protocol with very fast failover.
