Job Description:
Industrial Networking Solutions (INS) is seeking a highly motivated and accountable associate for the role of Field Application Engineer (FAE) for Cisco Technologies. This position is within our sales group and focuses primarily on Cisco Industrial IoT products and solutions. This position is a support resource for our customers, field sales, customer service and technical services team. Areas of responsibility include technical guidance, quote development, product demonstrations and training. The FAE will also work closely with INS Services for customer applications, consulting, and onsite training.
Duties and Responsibilities This role is a strategic resource for the business development and growth for the Cisco IoT line of business and helps promote INS capabilities including consulting, audits, project services and training. Daily duties and responsibilities include:
- “Go-to” resource for industrial and ruggedized applications based on Cisco networking and wireless technologies.
- Highly skilled at Cisco technologies including device selection, configurations, applications, tools, and technologies.
- Pre-sales support and technical guidance including product selection and cross referencing.
- Maintain current Cisco certifications and train and support INS associates with maintaining Cisco certifications.
- Frequently collaborate with Cisco product development teams for product beta testing, product improvements, roadmaps, and validated design documentation.
- Frequently collaborate with INS and Cisco marketing teams for case studies, white papers, social media marketing, and marketing brochures.
- Assist field sales staff with onsite technical demonstrations.
- Lead and support of customer applications. This includes onsite work with customer to provide recommendations, designs, bill of materials and procurement of networking solutions.
- Schedule, facilitate, and insure maximum attendance at product-based workshops and seminars throughout the year.
- Accept inbound customer and sales inquiries on product selection and fulfill inbound quote requests.
- Preform onsite trouble shooting and warranty support as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Technical, Engineering or Computer Science degree or equivalent educational background.
- Experience with Cisco technologies in a ruggedized environment.
- Experience with edge computer operating systems such as Linux and Windows IoT.
- Experience with industrial architectures and appropriate cabling and connectivity requirements.
- Experience with cloud hosted technologies for Amazon Web Service and Microsoft Azure.
- Understanding of cellular networking applications including GSM, EDVO, HSPA, HSUPA and LTE.
- Excellent communication and collaboration with other associates.
- Proven technical writing skills on engineered solutions.
- Work duties will require frequent travel.
Teamwork
This position requires a technical collaboration, and often requires a quick understanding of emerging technologies for
unique solutions. This position requires an understanding and appreciation of multiple job roles, and frequently requires
a team effort with sales, operations, management, IT and other engineering disciplines. This position must provide
effective and positive feedback to INS team members on difficult solutions, and must be able to describe technical
requirements to other team members for a successful solution.
