Robust DataComm Multimode to Singlemode Fiber Optic Converter With Digital I/O, DIN-Rail Mount, 9-48 VDC Powered, ST Connectors.

The converter provides transparent data conversion between fiber optic devices that utilize multi--mode fiber and single mode fiber. A bidirectional digital I/O port is also provided to allow the conversion between TTL/CMOS and optical signals. The transmission distance for single-mode is greater than that of multi-mode. Single mode is ideal for longer "metropolitan distances" and multi-mode is well suited to short premises installation.

The converter regenerates signal strength and is mainly used to exceed the distance for multi-mode fiber or for the distribution of CMOS/TTL signals (clock etc) in a optical fiber network.
