Router Description

Digi ConnectPort WAN VPN V-EvDO (Verizon) Industrial 3G Router with VPN, with 4 Ethernet, 2 Serial, 1 USB Ports. Does not include antenna.

The ConnectPort WAN VPN is a hardened, upgradeable 3G cellular router that provides secure high-speed wireless connectivity to remote sites and devices. It can be used for primary wireless broadband network connectivity to equipment at remote locations, as well as for a backup to existing landline communications. The ConnectPort WAN VPN is ideal for use where wired networks (e.g., leased line/frame relay, ISDN, DSL) are not feasible, or where alternative network connections are required.

Provisioning Description

There are multiple steps involved with using cellular gateways. The cellular gateway must be activated with an appropriate data plan from an approved wireless carrier. After the activation has been completed with the wireless carrier the cellular gateway must be configured to connect to the cellular network. This configuration process is known as provisioning the modem. INS can complete this provisioning service for any of the cellular network providers.

INS Provisioning Service includes:

• Loading wireless network authentication information (provided by the cellular carrier)
• Loading custom configuration files
• Documenting network addressing and mobile numbers
• Testing network connectivity
